Coating

Protective coatings for marine, industrial and construction

Airless paint spraying intumescent fire protection coating onto steelwork

What we do

Zinc-rich primers to epoxy marine grades, intumescent fire protection to anti-fouling — applied to N1, N4 and SA standards by airless, conventional or thermal spray.

Manufacturers we apply

We work with paint from Leighs, International, Jotun, Ameron, Hempel, Coroless, Sigma, Remmers, Blakes and Coppercoat among others. Every protective coating we supply and apply can come with the manufacturer’s life-expectancy guarantee plus our own application guarantee.

Coverage

We supply and apply coatings to every market we work in — marine, industrial, commercial and domestic. That includes underwater paint for permanent steelwork protection, copper-coat anti-foul rated for up to 15 years, and high-build paint systems (1000 microns minimum) for the construction industry.

We coat steelwork, fibreglass, wood, brick and stone — and apply hot metal thermal spray in zinc, aluminium and copper for either protection or finish.

Scope of work

  • 01 Zinc-rich primers and oxides
  • 02 Epoxy marine-grade coatings
  • 03 Top-coat enamels and 2-pack polymers
  • 04 Anti-fouling and copper-coat
  • 05 Hot metal thermal spray (zinc, aluminium, copper, brass)
  • 06 Underwater paint for steelwork protection
  • 07 Intumescent fire-protection coatings
  • 08 Cementitious tanking and elastomeric systems
  • 09 Anti-graffiti and anti-slip coatings

Methods and kit

  • Devilbiss conventional spray (car spray gun)
  • Graco airless sprayer
  • Thermal spray gun
  • Gravity spray hopper
  • HVLP (high volume low pressure)
  • Pressurised spray pots

Process

How a job runs.

Same shape every time, scaled to the job. Survey first, sign-off last, no surprises in the middle.

  1. Step 01

    Survey

Site visit or photo review to specify substrate, environment, and the right paint system. Fix the spec before anything gets ordered.

  2. Step 02

    Prep

Blast to SA standards — coarse media for steel, finer for non-ferrous, low-pressure bead for delicate work. Surface tested before primer.

  3. Step 03

    Spray

Airless, conventional or thermal spray depending on the system. Wet-film and dry-film thickness measured against spec, layer by layer.

  4. Step 04

    Sign-off

Pin-hole test on steel, salt test where required, photographs at each stage, manufacturer life-expectancy guarantee on the system applied.
