01 How quickly can you give me a price?
Same day, almost always. Phone the yard with a description and a photo, or use the contact form. Bigger industrial jobs may need a site visit, but we will tell you that on the call.
-
02 How far do you travel?
On-site work covers Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset — Penzance to Plymouth, Torquay to Weymouth, Bridgwater to Ilfracombe. For yard work we collect and deliver anywhere in the South West.
-
03 What can't you blast?
Rubber. That is genuinely the only material we can't abrasive blast clean. Everything else — steel, stone, brick, hardwood, alloy, cast iron, glass, fibreglass — we have media and pressures to suit.
-
04 Can you handle work to Network Rail or MOD specifications?
Yes. We routinely work to N1 and N4 paint specifications and SA 2.5 surface preparation, with electronic micron-thickness and pin-hole testing on steelwork. We are HSE compliant and CSCS approved.
-
05 Do you do mobile / on-site work?
Yes. We bring kit to site for blasting, painting and hot metal spraying, including swimming pools, rail infrastructure, harbour steelwork, plant machinery and large fabrications that won't fit in a yard.
-
06 How big is your blast bay?
Approximately 100 × 80 ft — large enough for most fabrications. The separate paint unit is around 60 × 20 ft. The yard is about a mile off the A38, so HGV access is straightforward.
-
07 Which paint manufacturers do you work with?
Leighs, International, Jotun, Ameron, Hempel, Sigma, Coroless, Remmers, Blakes and Coppercoat among others. The right system for the job — marine epoxy, intumescent, anti-foul, glass-flake, copper-coat — is part of the quote.
-
08 How long does anti-foul last?
Conventional anti-foul lasts a season or two. Copper-coat, applied to a properly blasted hull, is rated up to 15 years and is what we recommend for owners who want to do this once.
-
09 Can you do small domestic jobs — gates, alloy wheels, garden furniture?
Yes. A lot of the work that built the firm was domestic restoration — wrought-iron gates, Land Rover chassis, alloys, cast-iron benches. No job is too small.
-
10 Do you give a written quote?
Yes, every quote is written. Phone or form, we come back with a price, scope, expected lead time and the manufacturer guarantee on any paint system applied.
